Holiday Inn Des Moines-Airport/Conf Center by IHG

Hotel is aging a bit - Holiday Inn Express in Marshalltown actually had nicer rooms with bigger bathrooms. But service here was stellar, everyone was friendly, breakfast was well-prepared. Tip: if you reserve a room with breakfast included in the price, only 2 breakfast coupons are provided. If you have 3 or 4 in the room, you'll have to pay for their breakfasts separately.

Rooms are standard IHG property rooms but this location has a very helpful and kind staff. Very convenient for the conference that I attended with the convention center connected to the hotel. Location is also very good being across the street from the airport. Location to downtown and other parts of DSM makes it easy to get to local restaurants and stores. I will stay here for future visits to DSM

We were here for a conference, so we didn't use any rooms for staying. But the staff we met were friendly, and the rooms we were in and big bathrooms and halls were all clean, and the temps were pretty well regulated for such spaces filled with large crowds of adults and kids alike. Great hosting :)

My sons flight was cancelled last minute and he was stuck at the airport. Justin went out of his way to ensure we were able to get him a shuttle and checked in. I am so thankful that my son was safe and not stranded.

It was wasn't as nice as I expected but still enjoyed my stay. Service was good. Friendly staff. I was disappointed that I paid a rate that included breakfast but was only given passes for two people out of our family of four.

Lori and the rest of the staff were extremely kind and helpful. The location next to the airport is so convenient. The room was clean, the shower was nice, and the beds were comfortable. The pool and spa were enjoyable. This was our first time to visit Des Moines, and we had a wonderful time. We hope to come again. Thank you!

I am very well traveled, I really enjoyed the openness of the indoor area under the dome. The hotel itself is a little bit dated but overall it was pretty cool to stay here for a few days and I found that the rates were a reasonable, you can get breakfast included with your stay for a couple dollars extra, it'll save you a little bit extra if you go that route and plan on having breakfast. They have several options to choose from for the breakfast, the country skillet is the best one in my opinion. The staff was nice.

This was a great hotel. The pool is nice and warm. Breakfast is extra here but worth it. It is a made to order breakfast not the typical continental breakfast at other Holiday Inns. The hot tub here is not good. Luke warm and old and filthy. Definitely needs to be replaced. Housekeeping woke us up at 7 am by barging in and yelling. I also question the thoroughness of their cleaning. We moved a chair and there was trash and a deck of cards under it there was also trash under the curtains along the balcony door. We would stay here again because the pool side room was very ideal.
